Robert E. Graham's Psychic Express

Meditation

The feeling of being in control of your own destiny is a major goal of meditation. Meditation relaxes the mind and body. it the first step in learning to use your psychic powers. Lower blood pressure and reduced stress result from consistent practice of meditation. Successful meditation is simple when you know what to expect. Except for minor variations the process is the same for everyone.

First get in a comfortable position, sitting in a chair or lying on the floor. Don t lie down if you fall asleep easy. Relax your body, close your eyes and become very still. Soft music aids concentration and helps mask room noises.

Inevitably, you get an itch somewhere! It s equivalent to carrying something breakable with both hands and getting an itch on your nose. Stay still ignore the itch and you will settle into a relaxed state. Many people get a tickle or itch in the face. Deep relaxation opens the tiny capillaries in the face. The tickle or itch comes from the increased blood flow. It is a sure sign you are on the right track.

With closed eyes most people see some mildly pleasant visions. Those of you who remember Walt Disney's Fantasia will have a good idea of what I mean. The first part of the movie set to Bach's Tocatta and Fugue in D Minor is a good example of what to expect.

Shortly a tightness will form in your chest, near the level of your heart. This creates the urge to sigh. Take a very deep breath through your nose and let it out in a long sigh. Getting this far is real progress. Next comes the urge to swallow. You may need to swallow more than once. Swallowing is a major landmark on your journey. Some people experience the desire to swallow and sigh in the order. Either way is okay.

Drowsiness hits you next. At this point you must not fall asleep! Stay alert. The feeling is one of extreme relaxation, with a sensation of heaviness in the arms and legs. Once you ve made it this far you re in deep meditation. You may experience spontaneous muscle spasms in your arms or legs. Don't let these twitches bother you, they are just the body's way of letting go of stored tensions. This reaction often doesn t come until the next stage.

The next phase involves a feeling of floating or falling. I often feel that my feet are falling through the floor. The feeling is similar to lying on a rubber raft in a swimming pool. Most people don t get this far the first few times they try meditation. If you don t experience these sensations immediately, just keep at it. Eventually you will succeed..
